District 1 is comprised of four counties in Kansas:  Anderson, Douglas, Franklin and Jefferson.  Although most of our membership live in these four counties, we have numerous members who live outside the district area.

Being part of ABATE of Kansas, Inc, we are of course concerned about our rights as citizens with special emphasis being in regards to motorcycles.  We are also community-minded and help with charities whenever possible.

Some of the charities we have been involved in are:  March of Dimes Bikers for Babies; Richard Wright Memorial Bears for Babies (which  provided bears for emergency vehicles in our area to give to children in traumatic situations); as well as participated in Tonganoxie Days (proceeds went to a local child’s lung transplant fund).  We recently have participated in fund raisers for Camp Adventure, which is a camp in our area for physically disabled children and adults, and the Jefferson County Humane Society.

We appreciate the support we have received from our communities.  We also hope to be able to continue this relationship as well as help with many other charities whenever the opportunity arises.

Success is dependent upon our membership.  We have a great group but could always use additional help.  Riding and/or owning a motorcycle IS NOT a requirement but a desire to maintain our rights as well as help others would be appreciated.  It also does NOT matter what you ride.  ABATE of Kansas, Inc. is NOT a motorcycle club and we are NOT against helmets; in fact, many of our members use helmets.  However, we ARE against the forced-use helmet laws by uninformed politicians.  We also keep watch to protect our rights in regards to riding apparel, maintenance on our own motorcycles (as well as other vehicles & recreational equipment) and traffic safety.  Please consider joining our district.
